Where cheap plans cost more than you expect
- Memberships. A $149 monthly fee adds about $1,700 a year on top of medicine.
- Dose steps. Brand-name prices often rise as you move up doses. Ro’s Wegovy pill goes from $149 to $299.
- No-refund prepaid plans. A cheap 12-month plan is only cheap if you finish it.
- Hidden month two. If you only see the first price, ask for the full schedule in writing.
Is cheap compounded semaglutide safe?
Compounded semaglutide is not FDA-approved, and the FDA does not check its safety, effectiveness or quality. Before you buy, ask which pharmacy makes it (a state-licensed 503A pharmacy or an FDA-registered 503B facility), avoid products labelled as semaglutide salts, and make sure your dose is written in both milligrams and syringe units. The FDA has received reports of dosing mistakes with compounded semaglutide.
